Biography

Niko Bonatsos is a managing director at General Catalyst, a venture capital firm with offices in Boston, New York, and Silicon Valley and approximately $3.75 billion in total capital raised. Niko focuses his investment strategy on finding first-time technology founders with strong product instincts, a robust appetite for learning, and a desire to create consumer-focused innovations with the potential to benefit millions of users. In his first six years with the firm, he was instrumental in investments in Snapchat, RealtyShares, ClassDojo and Paribus (recently acquired by CapitalOne) among others. Prior to joining General Catalyst, Niko attended Stanford University as a Fulbright Scholar earning an MS in Management Science and Engineering. He has studied and worked in many countries including the U.S., Greece, the UK and, as a part of the R&D team for Yokogawa Electric Corporation, in Japan. Additionally, Niko holds an M.Phil. in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from University of Cambridge and a Dipl.-Ing in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens.
